Football

The Football Program supports teams for young athletes in grades 3rd through 8^th who reside in Scotch Plains or Fanwood. We participate in the New Jersey Suburban Youth Football League (NJSYFL) and all of our teams travel to sites within our league.

The objectives of the program are to develop skills, sportsmanship, teamwork and discipline. Our third and 4^th grade programs are designed to get kids interested in football and learning the fundamentals of the game while having FUN with their friends. Our 5^th and 6^th grade programs become more competitive with our focus turning to improved skill development, building on our foundation and being able to teach more plays and responsibilities. The 7^th and 8^th grade programs are designed to be highly competitive and get the athletes the skills and knowledge to be ready to compete at the high school level.

Fees and Schedules

The cost to participate will be  $280 for the season, this includes registration for the season, preseason training, position specific instruction, game jersey, helmet and shoulder pads.

Safety

As Always, player safety remains our biggest area of focus.  All of the coaches have been recertified through the USA Football Heads Up program, we have learned new and improved techniques for maximum skill development and keeping their heads out of the game as much as possible.  We’re all available to talk to if you have a question or concern. Although safety is our highest priority, injuries a part of any sport. We promise to be attentive to practice and game situations and if we feel a player in showing signs of injuries, we will not think twice about removing him from play and have him evaluated.
